7. What are the guidelines for a video proctored assessment?
Here are a few do’s and don’ts that you must follow before taking a video-proctored test.
Things to follow:
- Make sure you have a functioning webcam before logging into the test.
- Select a location where you can remain undisturbed for the entire duration of the examination.
- Adjust the webcam to ensure that your entire face and torso are clearly visible throughout the duration of the assessment.
- The lighting in your environment must be bright enough to be considered “daylight” quality.
- The environment around you must be as quiet as possible.
Things to avoid:
- You must not leave the video frame during the exam for any reason.
- The source of light must not be behind you.
- Ensure that there are no people around you.
- Ensure there are no photo frames/posters/images in the camera view that the AI might detect as another face in the frame. Common things to watch out for – Photo frames, Deity posters, Clothing articles depicting a face etc.
- Use of headphones/earphones/any other electronic hearing device or mobile phones/gadgets is strictly prohibited during the assessment.
- Do not accept any calls during the test.
8. How can I troubleshoot issues related to network firewall?
- If you are using a closed/private network for internet access, you might face the issue of a network firewall.
- In this case, the internet network might restrict access to certain websites.
- In situations like these, we recommend you to kindly switch to a different internet network.
- Alternatively, you can also use your mobile hotspot internet to complete the test.
9. Understanding the code editor.
When you are answering a programming-related question, the code editor will appear.
The different components of the code editor are as follows:
Note: These functionalities are given for your convenience and have nothing to do with the evaluation of the code.
- Size: It allows you to choose a font size. Click on A+ to increase the size and A- to decrease the size.
- Language preference: You can choose the language in which you want to write the code, using this drop-down menu. The availability of languages depends on the question setter as well as the role for which you are applying.
- Custom Test case: You can click on this button to check the accuracy of your code by entering your own input values.
- Run code: You can click on this button to check the accuracy of your code and debug it.
- Submit: Click on this to finally check your code against the given Test cases.
Note: These functionalities are given for your convenience and have nothing to do with the evaluation of the code.
10. What is the difference between "Run Code" and "Submit Code"?
In the Platform, when you attempt to solve a coding Question, Run code executes your code against the sample test cases but doesn’t submit the code for final scoring while Submit code executes your code against all the test cases (the main and the sample test cases) and it submits the code for final scoring. A detailed explanation of both the buttons:
- Run code – This button compiles your code against the sample test cases. It is also used to debug the code. You can use this option to re-compile your code after making changes and test for errors. Please note that clicking “Run Code” doesn’t test your solution against Hidden Test Cases, hence, doesn’t calculate any scores for the test cases.
- Submit code – This button Submits your final answer to a coding problem. You can modify a submission and resubmit your answer any number of times before the Test ends. Scores are calculated for the best submission i.e code yielding the highest score.
- When completing a coding test, you will be presented with a Code Editor screen to enter your code that will be assessed by the recruiter.
- Depending on the type of test you are taking, you could be presented with predefined code that you need to edit or append your code.
- You have the option to switch to a Custom Test Case screen where you can input and debug code using Run Code.
- Ensure the final code is included in the Code Editor screen where you can test/debug using the Run Code option. Note: When you are ready to submit your answers, disable the Custom Test Case screen by clicking on the Console button.
- With your code completed and tested, click on Submit to send your answers to the recruiter. Submitted code cannot be edited.
11. Why am I not getting the programming language of my choice in the code editor?
- The programming languages that are available in a Test
- It depends on the subject category of the Test, which is widely divided into 4 different domains namely Core programming Test, Machine Learning / Data Science Test, Test based on different Frameworks, and Test based on Database and Scripting languages.
- Although we have a wide variety of choices in each of these domains, it depends on the question setter, recruitment company, and the requirements of the role, so as to which programming languages will be made available to the candidates.
- Hence, it could be possible that you might not be getting the programming language of your choice in the code editor, during a Test.
- For example, if you are attempting a Java Coding Challenge, you would be restricted to use only Java to solve the questions(refer to the image given below).
- You can also check the list of languages and frameworks supported by the platform in the help articles to get a rough idea.
- However, it is recommended that you confirm the languages that will be made available to you, from the recruitment company.
12. Can I modify my code after clicking on the Submit button?
- If you made a mistake in your program and already clicked on the Submit button, you can still make changes to your program.
- Check the status of the Test cases to ensure that your program is working successfully.
- If the status of the Test cases says Wrong Answer, you can edit your program and click on the Submit button again.
- You can click on Submit as many times as you want. We always considers the best submission (i.e the submission that will fetch maximum marks).
13. Test cases say 'Wrong Answer'. What should I do now?
The test cases say ‘Wrong Answer’ after you have run your code, any of the following could be a possible reason:
- You have incorrectly interpreted the question and the logic used in your code is incorrect.
- You have not correctly debugged your code and your code still contains bugs.
- You have missed some corner cases of the problem statement, hence, all the test cases are not passed.
- You have used incorrect syntax.
- You have not used the brackets correctly.
- The indentation is incorrect.
- You have added unwanted print statements inside the code, which is altering the output.
- Your code has passed all the Sample test cases. However, it could not pass all the hidden test cases successfully.
14. How do I know if my answers are successfully submitted?
- When you start your online test, you will see the Test Navigator on the left.
- This panel gives an outline of the test structure by section and the number of questions contained within each section.
- You can navigate through the questions by clicking on the question numbers or by clicking the Next button at the top of each question.
- For every submitted and saved answer, the question will be marked with a green circle in the Test Navigator and the progress circle (on the left of the screen) will also increment as you answer each question.
- If a question doesn’t have the green indicator, it means an answer has not been submitted. If this problem persists, ensure you’re connected to the internet.
- Once you have answered all the questions in the test, the progress circle will hit 100% and all questions in the Test Navigator should have a green circle to depict that your answers have been successfully saved.
15. Why are Questions and Images not visible in my Test?
- You might be facing the issue due to one of the following reasons:
- Ensure your internet connection is up and running. Try running an internet speed test to ensure you’re getting at least 1mbps download speed.
- Try refreshing the browser window. In a few instances, some components of the webpage might not load properly which can cause issues. If your test has started, doing a page refresh will not affect your test progress. After refreshing, continue with the question you were previously busy with. Note that your previous test answer submissions will be saved.
- Try opening the test link in your browser’s incognito tab.
- Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
- Log out the current session and then log back in again. Note that your previous test answer submissions will be saved.
16. How do I finish my test?
- These are the series of checks which you must perform before proceeding to finish the test:
- Make sure to save your submissions before moving on to the next question.
- Crosscheck if you have attempted all the questions using the Question Navigator pane.
- Once you are done with steps 1 & 2, you can go ahead and click on Finish Test on the top-right-hand side of your screen.
- Once you have submitted the test, you will see a confirmation message on your screen.
- Note: In case you are unable to press the “Finish Test” button due to some issue, don’t worry, the test auto submits your answers when the timer runs out!
